Goods produced in the region
Udmurtia is a leader in production of some types of consumer products in Russia. Udmurt companies produce 80% of all Russian hunting and sporting rifles, considerable number of Russian cars and oil.
Many enterprises in the Udmurt Republic have introduced quality management system on the basis of international standards of ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 series as an efficient instrument for economic growth, which serves the purposes of sustainable development of companies.
The largest enterprises of the Republic are focused mainly in Izhevsk city. Here in Izhevsk they produce the following: cars, sporting and hunting rifles, metal-cutting equipment, roll stock of constructional, alloy and stainless steels, rocket-and-space equipment, medical equipment, equipment for oil and gas industry, equipment for geologic exploration and drilling, computer equipment, and consumer products: washing machines, vacuum sweepers, garment and knitted goods, footwear and others.
Foreign trade
Foreign trade turnover of the Udmurt Republic in 2006 amounted to 1043,0 mln. US dollars. Balance of foreign trade was equal to 513,0 mln. US dollars.
